Backed in the forest among the old trees, this floor-through A-frame has been lovingly updated in a modern/industrial/farmhouse style. The thoughtful design is minimalist, inviting, and incredibly functional.

Step inside to find rustic whitewashed wide-plank floors, copper baseboards, tongue-and-groove cedar walls, open-beamed ceilings and concealed up-lighting. A woodstove and antique style steel radiators keep the home warm. An 80" screen is tucked within the beams to create a movie theater. The renovated chef’s kitchen includes chopping block countertops, a 48” range, artisan cabinetry made from a Sierraville barn and even a cleverly mounted antique ladder on the ceiling for hanging pots and pans. The bar is perfect for coffee and emails before getting outside.

The bathroom feels like a boutique hotel, with modern glass subway tile on the walls and old-world hexagons on the floor, brushed nickel hardware, a frameless glass rain shower, and custom vanity built from reclaimed lumber from an old Donner Lake pier. A faucet in the shower provides the functionality of a pantry, for filling buckets and washing feet, dogs, etc.

An industrial steel staircase spirals to the second floor that is cleverly divided into a landing and two sleeping areas divided by tent canvas. This allows for airflow and brightens the space. Overhead pendants are wired to light each zone.

Outside, the cozy decks are warmly lit with barn sconces tucked into the eves. The front yard is fully landscaped and irrigated with perennial, deer-proof flowers - all you have to do is turn the irrigation on in the summer and nature does the rest.

This unique gem sits on a quiet dead-end street and backs to scenic Trestle Peak and the iconic Donner Lake Run—a mecca for backcountry ski lovers – with future access to the expanding Donner Lake Rim Trail and Schallenberger.
